Hopefully you like it, will find it easier to navigate, and find more useful information for you and your family.  Please let us know what you think by sending an email to [email protected]

But now, a quick switch from the new back to the old.  Here's a few comments from the article on the "Ultimate Love Test" that you will find interesting, to say the least!

Here's a gem:

L.B.  Yes, Israa, I remember you very well; and I also remember deleting you from the database.  So, you gotta stop re-subscribing to the list!  So, I've removed you again :-).

I know that we have an international audience here, and sometimes I do provide recipes and other items for free; but this is still a business and a homeschooling forum - and as such ideas and views will be expressed.  If at any time you are uncomfortable, there's that link at the bottom called "unsubscribe" that will make me go away forever!

Laura I agree with what you are saying but instead of contacting the ABC stations why not do as we felt led to do and just get rid of the TV!!!!!  We decided to "fast" from TV back in August of 2003 for the whole month, the first week was horrible, 10 months later we still have it off.  We choose, wisely, movies instead that way no commercials, which are worse than the shows at times.  We even belong to a movie club that edits all of the movies so no more nudity, bad language, etc.  We have been very pleased and feel this is what the Lord truly means by "setting no evil before thy eyes".  Just a suggestion for protecting your children's hearts and minds as well as your own.  "Garbage in Garbage out" is a famous line in our home and it is the truth.  Once a picture of something gets into your head and your soul it is not something just easily erased out again.  Micki Prov. 3:5-6

L.B.  Yes, Micki, you are very right.  And, as a matter of fact, I grew up without television.  We listened to radio and did a lot of reading.  I strongly believe that having the boob tube absent from my life was a great thing that my parents did.  And I LOVE to keep it off at my house too.

But, I still believe that it's important to know what is going on around us.  And to proactively attack the evils that are permeating our society.  I can not in good conscience sit by and just let things happen around me without making an effort to stop them.

If all the good people shut off what's going on around them, and just let what happens, happen (and I'm not saying you're doing this) - there's going to be a point where we will lose our freedom to do good.  We are still in a spiritual warfare.

And that's another reason why we all do activities around here to take the place of television! :-)  Many blessings to you and your family!

P.S. You too can take advantage of activities to keep the kids occupied and not even thinking about the television.  Summer games, crafts, etc.  Get some now:
